About this release
(back to top)Installing this release will upgrade Alta Aware video management systems, and, if needed to maintain feature compatibility, any Alta cameras associated with your deployment.

| Point of sale support |
You can now develop your own integrations between point-of-sale (POS) systems and devices and Alta Aware. These integrations allow you to add POS devices to your system, view logs from them, and associate them with cameras. You can search video footage and create rules and alarms for POS events. Alta Aware stores POS data according to your metadata retention settings. See: Point of sale support in Aware is still under development. Some features may not work as expected. |

| Unique Alta Keys now identify Alta cameras |
With the expansion of our camera portfolio to included Avigilon Alta H6SL, we now identify cameras with a unique Alta Key. We have updated Alta Aware and Alta camera software to reflect this change. For all Avigilon Ava cameras, the Alta Key is the same as the serial number. Future Avigilon Ava cameras will be supplied with a clearly marked Alta Key. When Alta Aware requires an Alta Key for an Avigilon Ava camera without a clearly marked Alta Key, use its serial number instead. | Limit simultaneous camera updates | To help you control bandwidth consumption, you can now limit the number of Alta cameras on each site that simultaneously receive software updates. See How to: Configure deployment bandwidth usage. | 6.2.5 |
